There are few who would argue against Bill Belichick not only being the best NFL head coach in the league today but perhaps the greatest the game has ever seen. And that’s been the case for the better part of the last 18 years.

During that time his Patriots have won 16 AFC East titles, 9 Conference Championships and 6 Super Bowl titles. Stands to reason a man like that would have loads of Coach of the year honors.

Guess again.

Belichick has been named Coach of the year only 3 times in his career and none since 2010. During that span both Ron Rivera and Bruce Arians have won the award twice.

This year should be no different. According to the online betting site BetOnline.ag Belichick has the 3rd best odds to win the award this year.

San Franciscos Kyle Shanahan the betting favorite at +1000. First year Browns head coach Freddie Kithchens is second at +1100.

Bill Belichick is tied for 3rd along with Sean McVay whom he completely embarrassed and outcoached in last year’s Super Bowl, a dominating Patriots 13-3 win. Go figure.
