Breaking: New England Patriots Release Antonio Brown

The Patriots released Brown on Friday less than two weeks after signing him.

FOXBORO – The New England Patriots have released Antonio Brown less than two weeks after signing him to the team.

Amid allegations of sexual assault, rape and more, the Patriots have moved on from the wide receiver. Brown only appeared in one game.

A Patriots spokesperson released a statement reading, “The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”

Shortly before Ian Rapoport broke the news, Brown hinted at it on his Twitter and Instagram pages and thanked the organization for the opportunity.

He used the hashtag #GoWinIt and #DoItForMe, indicating he’ll be rooting on the Patriots this season.
