Bruins Sign Trent Frederic To Entry-Level Deal


On Tuesday, Don Sweeney announced the Bruins signed Trent Frederic from the University of Wisconsin. He was originally selected by the team in the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The deal is an entry-level contract for three years beginning with the 2018-19 season. He will join the Providence Bruins for the remainder of the 2017-18 season on an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

At Wisconsin, Frederic led the team with 17 goals and 15 assists, good for 32 points as the alternate captain for the 2017-18 season.

He was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year for the 2016-17 season with 33 points (15 goals, 18 assists) in 30 games and is a bronze medal winner with Team USA in the 2018 World Junior Championship where he had five goals.
