Smackdown Live comes to you tonight from Dallas, Texas!

Segment 1: Daniel Bryan Addresses the WWE Universe

In an incredible turn of events Daniel Bryan has been officially cleared to return to in ring action. In an incredibly emotional promo Bryan says he is back and better than ever. He said during the trying time he focused on being grateful, and that’s what got him through it. It was truly one of the most real moments in wrestling history. Just an incredible speech and a incredible welcome back for Daniel Bryan.

Match 1: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev

A great match by two of the best pure strikers in the WWE. While it was a rematch from Fastlane it was still a solid display of storytelling and striking ability.  Rusev got heat most of the match but he is so over that it’s hard for him to get true heel heat. He dominated Shinsuke for most of the match and really laid it in with some stiff working shots. After the commercial break Shinsuke took control back. Rusev rallied with a high kick but Shinsuke reversed the Matchka kick and rolled Rusev up for the win. After the match Aiden English and Rusev jumped Shinsuke but he fought them off and stood tall.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Segment 2: Charlotte and Natalya Backstage promo

Natalya says that Charlotte is scared to fight Asuka. She said the only reason she still has a winning streak is because she hasn’t faced her. Natalya thinks it should have been her moment at WrestleMania and that Charlotte and Asuka. Charlotte responds by issuing her a challenge for tonight to prove it.

Match 2: Baron Corbin vs. Tye Dillinger

A quick match but nothing too special. It was a quick shoiw of power for Corbin and to talk about the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal over commentary. Dillinger had a pretty clear botch during the match by forgetting the finish but it was so quick the casual fan probably didn’t notice. Corbin will be in the Andre Battle Royal and will be looking to be the first two time winner.

Winner: Baron Corbin

Match 3: Charlotte vs Natalya

Now here we have a decent match but nothing to write home about. With there being so much pressure leading up to WrestleMania it seems like much of the roster wants to play it safe. So while it was a good match it was very safe and grounded. I also have a hard time believing Natalya when she tries to sell. It seems like she always has the same look on her face. She is great at getting classic heel heat but that’s not enough to get wins.  It was a nice test for Charlotte to show she can win the tough ones but right near the end Carmella rushed the ring.  She went to cash in but Natalya got a roll up on Charlotte for the win.

Winner: Natalya

Match 4: Jimmy Uso vs. Luke Harper

A nice promo from the Uso’s leading into the match. Bringing up what has gone down the past few weeks between themselves, the New Day and the Bludgeon Brothers.  Then we get into the match and it starts off slow. It really was a slow methodical match but it ended up being very boring. Nor very hard hitting and not very compelling.

Winner: Luke Harper

Segment 3: Jinder Mahal Promo

It has been announced that Daniel Bryan has made a match at WrestleMania for the United States Championship. It will be Jinder Mahal vs. Bobby Roode vs. Randy Orton. Bobby Roode interrupts Jinder right as he is getting into his promo and then Randy Orton does the same to Roode. Jinder pushes his lackey into Randy and Randy sets him up for the RKO. However before he can hit it Roode hits the glorious DDT on him and we go to commercial.

Match 5: Naomi and Becky Lynch vs. The Riot Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan)

It is announced that all of these ladies have put themselves in the Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania. For me this match was a complete throwaway. I’m not invested in any of the characters, the work in the ring was extremely bland and the match had no real meaning. Becky ended up getting a win by submission in around 3 minutes.

Winner’s: Becky Lynch and Naomi

Main Event Segment: Daniel Bryan Confronts Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens

Bryan calls out Owen’s and Zayn to address the situation that happened last week with Shane O’ Mac.  The promo starts with Owens and Zayn getting heat by insulting Texas and their dumb people. They say Bryan was the only fair one of the higher-ups on Smackdown Live. Sami even goes as far to say that the three of them together make a dream team. Bryan says that’s not why he called them out here. It was to deal with what happened last week. Bryan makes great points about how they unjustly attacked Shane last week and how he just doesn’t get why they did it. He then says that he hates that he has to do this but Sami and Kevin are FIRED! They respond by beating Bryan down in the middle of the ring. Bryan responds in the only way he can, by fighting back. Unfortunately he’s outnumbered and they get the best of him.  They hit him with a Helluva Kick and a power bomb on the apron. Bryan has to be stretchered off and carted to the back as Smackdown goes off the air.
