Additionally, he can make up to $18 million including any incentives. There were no extra years added to the agreement, which expires after the 2024 season, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/matthew-judon-appreciates-contract-solution-with-patriots-budge\">an NFL report. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMe and the guys upstairs got something done. As far as my contract you guys all know it\u2019s reported. I\u2019m happy they\u2019re happy. We shook hands and now we\u2019re playing football,\u201d said Judon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The updated contract officially ends Judon\u2019s perceived, \u201chold-in,\u201d although he disagreed with this narrative in a press conference covered by CLNS Media during training camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Judon continued: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/D9bZrj4GlK\">pic.twitter.com\/D9bZrj4GlK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Patriots on CLNS (@PatriotsCLNS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PatriotsCLNS\/status\/1688262963864420352?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 6, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cYou all kinda know me and know how my personality is and how I just approach the game and approach day in and day out. So regardless if I was out here or if I was down there running, I was doing it wholeheartedly and I was doing it happily,\u201d said Judon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Initially during the first few days of training camp, Judon was seen warming up with teammates and doing heavy conditioning on the team\u2019s practice fields, which are typically reserved for rehabbing players. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Judon later shot down injury rumors and refused to speak on contract negotiations, attributing his lack of full out practicing to needing more time conditioning at his age.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A 4 time Pro Bowler who is going into his 7th year in the NFL, Judon is a veteran in the league and will turn 31 in the coming days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With the new contract, Judon will definitely be practicing full force now, and he\u2019s excited for what\u2019s to come. \u201cI\u2019m a competitor. I love playing football and I\u2019m back out here getting to do what I love to do,\u201d said Judon.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Matthew Judon on getting a raise from the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Patriots?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Patriots<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sSRO3lE6sx\">pic.twitter.com\/sSRO3lE6sx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Patriots on CLNS (@PatriotsCLNS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PatriotsCLNS\/status\/1688262730048847872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 6, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Judon was extremely appreciative of the Patriots support, saying, \u201chonestly they didn\u2019t have to, but they helped me out so I could help the team out.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cHelping out\u201d is a severe understatement to what Judon can accomplish on the football field. He was a Pro-Bowler in his first two seasons with the Patriots, and recorded a career-high 15.5 sacks this past season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The linebacker\u2019s contract wasn\u2019t the only aspect of his life that made headlines this past week. When Judon\u2019s contract adjustments made the news, former Patriot cornerback Asante Samuel took to Twitter saying, \u201clet\u2019s see how much he likes Belichick now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Judon responded back, stating, \u201cWill forever be my guy. Don\u2019t let that money effect my emotions Asante.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When asked about the exchange on Twitter, Judon laughed it off, and explained that there\u2019s no hard feelings between him and Samuel. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cLike I told y\u2019all this game is a fraternity of brothers. And sometimes you would joke around and argue, but you know the relationship outside of what y\u2019all see is better, is always better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Samuel has been especially critical of Belichick over the years, but Judon refuses to let those remarks get in the way for his love of the game and his bond with other players saying, \u201cwe have respect for each others game and respect for each other as human beings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As for the Patriots side of things, they clearly value Judon and what he brings to the table.
