The Boston Celtics went into San Antonio Saturday night and took care of business for the 8th straight win, 5th in a row on the road, improving their road record to 31-7. The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum who fell just 2 assits shy of a triple double, a big shooting night from Jrue Holiday, and a career performance from backup center Luke Kornet to push past the Spurs 121-111.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Celtics were able to take an early lead in the first quarter thanks in part to Holiday who knocked down 3 of his 5 three pointers in the first frame.\u00a0 <\/span>Tatum had 29 points leading all scorers while coming off an ankle injury, and Kornet had 16 rebounds, a career high and led all players on the floor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tatum looks fine: <\/b>Tatum missed he Celtics last game against the Phoenix Suns with an ankle injury<\/a> he suffered earlier this week against the Kings. You wouldn’t know if by watching him,. Tatum showed no ill effects of the ankle injury playing 36 minutes dropping 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bench delivers again: <\/b>Boston\u2019s bench production has been a huge difference maker during the 2024-2025 season, and that production continued Saturday night. With Payton Prichard out (hip flexor tightness) and Al Horford out (big toe sprain), Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet stepped up and played big minutes to help the Celtics stay hot. Hauser played 24 minutes scoring 11 points and going 4-13 from the field (3-11 from 3 Point range).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Luke Kornet had himself a career night for the Celtics. Kornet played 31 minutes for the Celtics and posted his 5th career double double and had a career high in rebounds. Kornet put up 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Celtics and was the difference maker for the Celtics down the stretch. <\/span><\/p>\n
