Being a head coach in the National Football League is no easy task, even despite past success. Year in and year out, many teams see turnover at the position, as not every coach can have the luxurious 20-year tenure with one team like current Patriots head coach Bill Belichick; who according to BetOnline.ag is currently the least likely coach to be fired fire (+25000). That means you have to bet $25,000 to win $1 on Belichick getting canned.
Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is the most likely to be the first coach fired this season (+400). Coming off back to back 7-9 seasons, Gruden could turn to rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins to try to turn Washington around, and potentially save his job.
Is the smart money on Pat Shurmur (+700) to be the first coached fired or to resign?

Following Gruden is Giants second year head coach Pat Shurmur (+700) and Jacksonville’s head coach Doug Marrone (+900), who went just 5-11 last year following an appearance in the 2017 AFC Championship Game.
Rounding out the top five is Falcons head coach Dan Quinn (+1200), who is just two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance, and Texans head coach and former Patriot assistant Bill O’Brien (+1200).
As for other coaches with New England ties, Lions head coach Matt Patricia (+1800) comes in at 10. Tennessee’s Mike Vrabel and Dolphins first year head coach Brian Flores (+2500) are in the middle of the pack.
