BOSTON – Andy Jick, the longtime Boston Celtics and Boston College public address announcer has died.
Jick was the P.A. announcer for the Celtics during the Larry Bird Era in the the old Boston Garden. He started in 1980 and was present for three NBA championships.
Jick was with the team until 1997.

After that he announced men’s and women’s Boston College basketball games starting in 2001.
Jick died in his sleep. Cause of death is unknown. He was 66 years old.
BC athletic director Martin Jarmond called it a “tremendously sad day for all of us.”
