BOSTON – Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens addressed the media before Sunday’s matinee matchup with the Atlanta Hawks and discussed Kyrie Irving’s recent surgery. He also joked about Marcus Morris’ recent ejections and added an update on Guerschon Yabusele’s sore left knee.
Irving’s surgery was successful on Saturday, and Stevens says he expects him to be fully healthy by opening night next season. In terms of other injuries, he said that Yabusele’s MRI on his left knee came back “clear”. He’ll still remain out of the lineup on Sunday due to soreness.
Marcus Morris will miss Sunday’s game due to rest, but Stevens joked regarding his recent ejections. “I was joking that I was going to tell you all that we’re sitting him to save him money, but no I’m not worried about him at all.”
