Welcome to the CLNS Smackdown Live Recap here on the CLNS Media Network! This is your home for the results of Smackdown Live, including a recap of all the matches and segments throughout the show. Join me as we discuss what these outcomes could mean for the future of the blue brand as we work towards the Greatest Royal Rumble!

Smackdown Live comes to you tonight from New Orleans, Louisiana!

Segment 1: Shane McMahon Promo

The first segment of the show is Shane coming out to celebrate his win at WrestleMania. He says because of how successful he and Daniel were at WrestleMania Daniel Bryan has officially resigned as Smackdown GM. Due to this not only is Bryan a active superstar on Smackdown Live but there is a new GM. The new GM is Paige! After making her way down to the ring she announces her first match she wants to make. Daniel Bryan will face AJ Styles tonight in the main event.

Match 1:Uso’s vs. The New Day

Next we have a number one contenders match for the Smackdown Live Tag Titles. Overall this was a quick match and unlike their previous matches, a bit underwhelming. After a small bit of back and forth the Uso’s hit Xavier Woods with a super kick and a Samoan splash for the win. The Uso’s will challenge the Bludgeon Brothers at Backlash in May.

Winner: Uso’s

Match 2:Naomi vs. Natalya

After one quick match we have another quick match. This time the match’s purpose is to give some shine on the first ever women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal winner Naomi. After taking a few bumps, Naomi make a heroic comeback and hits a split legged moon-sault for the win.

Winner: Naomi

Segment 2: Shinsuke Nakamura

Then we have a cocky and sarcastic promo from Smackdown’s newest heel Shinsuke Nakamura. He says he must have got too emotional and that’s why he  hit AJ with a low-blow. When Renee Young asks him another question he responds with “sorry, no speak English”. This was an incredible promo and Shinsuke as a heel is a license to print money.

Segment 3: Charlotte Promo

As Charlotte starts to talk about her great win over Asuka and how she beat the streak, the debuting Peyton Royce and Billie Kay make their way to the ring. The two NXT call up’s dubbed the IIconics run down Charlotte. They then jump her and destroy her with a power bomb on the outside of the ring. As they walk to the back Carmella’s music hits and she rushes to the ring and cashes in her Money in the Bank contract.

Match 3: Carmella vs. Charlotte for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship

After only 1 super-kick to the head by Carmella, she gets the 3!!! We now have a new Smackdown Live Women’s Champion! From here we will have to see who is placed on what show next week. While Charlotte may want a rematch, next week in Providence may be her only shot. With the superstar shakeup where does the women’s division go from here?

Winner: Carmella

Match 4: Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode vs. Rusev

Next we have the number one contenders match for the United States Championship. Based on the crowd reaction alone Rusev should have won this match, unfortunately no matter how over he gets he never get rewarded. After a 10 minute match not only has Rusev not won but he gets RKO’d and pinned. Unfortunately it seems Rusev is going to be literally buried as at the Greatest Rumble he is facing The Undertaker in a casket match.

Winner: Randy Orton

Segment 4: AJ Styles Promo

After the break AJ cuts a brief promo on how he still wants to punch Shinsuke in the face for what he has done and for ruining the dream match at WrestleMania. Although tonight he has to focus on a match he never thought would happen in the WWE, him vs. Daniel Bryan.

Main Event: AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan

Finally we have an incredible main event. AJ and Daniel tore the house down, this was one of the best matches I can remember on Smackdown Live. With Bryan only being back for his second match it is insane the kind of ring shape he’s in. Unfortunately Shinsuke had to come out and ruin the finish of the match, hitting both AJ and Daniel with Kinshasa’s to end the show.

Winner: N/A

Match of the night: AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan

Segment of the night: Charlotte Promo

Join us again next Tuesday when Smackdown Live heads to Providence, Rhode Island!
