Patriots vs Dolphins – Live Updates From Miami

ANOTHER ONE: Jamie Collins with the 69 yard Pick Six off the deflection. 38-0 Patriots.

PICK SIX ALERT: Dolphins had a little something going on their first drive of the 4th quarter but Ryan Fitzpatrick thew late over the middle and Stephon Gilmore stepped in front of Devante Parker and just waltzed in for a 54 yard touchdown.

Patriots 3rd drive of 3rd quarter: Patriots could sense the Dolphins defense starting to fade as they pounded the rock with Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead. The Patriots were knocking on the doorstep for a score but had a play called back on a successful OPI challenge by Brian Flores. Josh Gordon then culprit on the pick play. Bill Belichick unsuccessfully challenged what he believed to be a Sony Michel touchdown. After a PI on Rowe against Julian Edelman the Pats got the ball 1st and goal on the 1 and Tom Brady took it in with the QB sneak,

Patriots up 23-0.

Patrick Chung INJURED: Patrick Chung limped off after a Dolphins player landed on the back of his leg. The Dolphins went 3 and out after 3 plays for -2 yards. The Dolphins had 51 yards of offense at the half. They now have 49.

3rd Quarter – Patriots 2nd possession: 3rd and 12 completion kept the drive going. Tom Brady and Antonio Brown has a miscommunication on a play that could have easily gone for a Patriots touchdown. Brady was expecting Brown to break off to the corner for the back shoulder throw. The two failed to connect two more times. The last of which was just a bad throw by Brady. Brown had Eric Rowe beat and Brady under-threw him.

Gostkowski kick was good as pats opened up a 16-0 lead. Still not covering the spread 

3rd Quarter – Dolphins Opening drive ended with an interception.A great play by Stephon Gilmore who leapt to deflect a pass intended for DeVante Parker and the ball landed right into the arms of safety Devin McCourty.

Wynn UPDATE: Patriots left tackle Isaiah Wynn has been ruled out with a foot injury. Not great considering the team already without starting right tackle Marcus Cannon.

HALFTIME: 13-0 Patriots at the half.

Tom Brady: 11-13, 121 yards, TD.

Sony Michel: 13 Carries, 54 Yards, Rush TD

Antonio Brown: 4 Receptions, 56 Yards, TD

Dolphins only two 1st downs, 51 yards of total offense.

2nd Quarter -Patriots 4th Drive: Antonio Brown gets in the end zone!  A beautiful back shoulder throw and catch from 20 yards out. Phillip Dorsett made a terrific diving grab on 3rd an 17 to keep the drive alive.

Of some concern, Kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed the extra point attempt after missing a FG attempt earlier.

2nd Quarter – Patriots 3rd Drive: The Patriots 3rd drive stalled at the Miami 30 after Tom Brady couldn’t connect with Josh Gordon. The Pats had 3 receivers on the field and none of them were Antonio Brown. The Pats got no points out of the drive as Stephen Gotskowski missed a 48 yard field goal wide right.

Wynn Update: According to the Patriots Wynn has a foot injury and is listed as questionable to return.

Isaiah Wynn Injured: Isaiah Wynn tapped out of the Patriots 2nd drive. He was a little gimpy coming off the field and disappeared into the blue medical tent. He then walked to the Patriots locker room under his own power. The Patriots drive stalled after New England ran it on 3rd and 5 with Sony Michel and he only got 3 yards.

2nd Quarter – Dolphins 2nd drive: Miami got into Patriots territory on this one but the drive stalled when Adam Butler sacked Ryan Fitzpatrick. Credit the coverage on this one as no Miami receiver was open downfield.

1st Quarter – Patriots 1st Drive: Antonio Brown getting involved early and often. He didn’t start the game but came in on second down and immediately got free for an 18 yard gain. He caught 3 balls on 3 targets in the opening drive for 36 yards.

He also drew a pass interference penalty which set up the Pats first score. A one yard plunge by Sony Michel. 10 play drive. A 10 play 60 yard drive. All 3 Tom Brady completions went to Brown.
