The Boston Bruins have claimed first place in the Eastern Conference. The Boston Bruins have been great all season, and nothing is letting stopping them. The Tampa Bay Lightning didn’t really have a chance tonight in the 4-2 Bruins win at the TD Garden.

In the first period the Bruins had 17 shots on goal. The Bruins had a 2-0 lead going into the second period. The two goals in the first period we’re by Tim Schaller and David Pastrnak.

The score would be 2-1 Bruins till the third period when Patrice Bergeron scored his 28th goal of the season to make it 3-1 Bruins. Then the Lightning would score again to make it a 3-2 game. However that didn’t last long as Brad Marchand scored an emty net goal to seal the victory 4-2.

The Boston Bruins still have a week left of the regular season till the playoffs start. Bruce Cassidy said after the game according to NBCSB.  “Well, it’s our team right there in a nutshell. We stick together, and I think we’ve done that all year, no matter who is in the lineup. We trust our players to go out and do the job and have eachother’s backs. That’s what makes it a special group.” It is a special team theyvet fought all year and deserve a shot at a Cup run.

Torey Krug spoke about the crowd and the atmosphere tonight saying after the game “It gets guys going.Especially  some guys that sometimes don’t have a pulse on the bench. It gets them engaged in the game and then all of a sudden, you’re standing on the bench wondering what’s going on and you see one of your superstar players getting going on the ice and someone you think you never see and it’s fun. He (Rask) stood up for himself and obviously guys will jump in if necessary.” According to NESN.
