The Boston Bruins will face the Toronto Maple Leafs Thursday night, after their loss to the Florida Panthers. David Backes and David Pastrnak scored for the Bruins in the loss to the Panthers. Bruce Cassidy spoke after the game and said according to NBCSB. “I believe we’ll be the 50-win team we saw all yr. We’re not gonna allow one game to define us, yet we understand the meaning. We let one get away, an opportunity lost to have home-ice. We’ll see if it haunts us down the road. It’s too early to tell that right now.”

Brad Marchand also spoke after the game saying “It’s been a long month & a half. Played a lot of games, a lot of hard games too, not games you can kind of coast thru, Everyone was battling for playoff spots. Not a whole lot of rest, but that’s not an excuse. We messed up an opportunity to jump to a higher seed.”

The Bruins still are in a great spot, but they really should go far in the playoffs. They’ll be the team they’ve been most of the season starting Thursday. It’s no question the few days off is very much needed for them. By Thursday they’ll be ready to go.
