It’s Oscar season!
It’s that time of year again ladies and gentlemen. The season that everyone loves so much; Oscar season! For those who don’t know, DJ and Pete review movies during Oscar season and today’s episode is about ‘The Post’. Did the guys enjoy it? Or did they hate it? Well, you’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out! By the way, the guys don’t like liars or being made fools of, so don’t wrong them!
What’s ‘The Post’ about?
The Post is about the Washington Post and it’s race to catch up with the New York Times about a massive cover-up of government secrets. Everyone is risking their jobs and their freedoms in order to bring light to the darkness. The movie stars Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep and Bob Odenkirk.
Famous Movie Rating
DJ and Pete put this movie through their world famous rating system to determine if they enjoyed the movie and if they would recommend it. Here is the system:
- Did we like it?
- How did everyone look?
- Will we steal stuff from it?
- Is it problematic?
Want to know how the movie did through this system? You’ll have to listen to the podcast to find out! Slight spoiler, it didn’t sit too well with either of them. Pete compares this movie to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a Ziploc bag. Why? You can find the answer in the podcast. DJ says it’s like the combination of Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga. Apparently there are lots of metaphors to go around to describe how they feel about this movie. Also DJ doesn’t like movies set in the 70’s. Interesting. The movie won a very distinct award that was only granted to one other movie, ‘The Snowman’. At least from DJ it wins this award.
