Even though the Detroit Pistons did not make the playoffs this year, that does not deter All-Star center Andre Drummond’s confidence as the best at his position.
When asked the question, Andre Drummond did not mince words: “That’s a dumb question. I’m going to say me obviously, I’m not going to name the other man.”
The two-time All-Star has a point, as he led the NBA with 16 RPG while chipping in 15.0 PTS this season.
Drummond was quiet when asked about Tom Scotto, of The Athletic, reports that he and Blake Griffin met with owner Tom Gores about coach Stan Van Gundy’s coaching style. His reply: “Next question” with a big laugh.
When asked if there was friction within the organization, he was quick to dismiss it. “No never any friction, you know at the end of the day it’s all business.”
Drummond also wanted to clear up that he has no beef with 76ers center Joel Embiid. He says they talk often and the beef is all for show. They both share a common interest the center position does not die as well.
In the interview, Drummond also touched upon the NCAA and the 18-year-old age barrier, as well as his flourishing rap career. As the self-proclaimed best center in the NBA, he stated that he will be signing with Atlantic Records.
