Last night the Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a final score of 10-8. The Sox offense started off hot by scoring five runs in the bottom of the first. Four of those five runs crossed the plate on rookie Michael Chavis’s first career grand slam.
The Blue Jays went on to score two runs in both the second and third inning to make it a one run ballgame, but the Sox offense turned it on once again scoring another five in the bottom half of the third.
Tonight, the Sox and Blue Jays battle once again. Toronto will be sending rookie Jacob Waguespack to the mound while Andrew Cashner makes his Red Sox debut. Cashner was acquired by Boston in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, but this is his first chance to help his former opponent win some games. You can catch the game tonight at 7:10 by watching on NESN or listening to it on 93.7 WEEI FM.
