Yesterday afternoon the Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles by a final score of 4 to 0.

The Red Sox finally got a great start out of one of their starters as David Price spanked the Orioles lineup by going 7 shutout innings. Baltimore also got a pretty good game out of starter John Means as he went 5 innings giving up 1 run, but Price’s performance was too much to overcome.

The game was a 1-run contest throughout, until the in eighth inning when Xander Bogaerts hit Baltimore with a dagger.

Bogaerts, who drove in all 4 of Boston’s runs yesterday, hit a three-run-bomb off of O’s reliever Josh Lucas. This pretty much sealed the deal for the Sox as Matt Barnes came in in the 9th and continued his stellar start to the season.

Today the 6-10 Red Sox wrap up their series with the Baltimore Orioles on this Patriots day. Hector Velasquez will be starting for Boston while Baltimore’s rookie manager Brandon Hyde sends veteran Dan Straily to the hill.
