Red Sox Hope to Bounce Back Against Yankees after Suffering Tough Loss to Twins

Last night the Red Sox suffered a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Minnesota Twins pushing their season record to 75-65.

Last night the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins played the rubber match of their three-game set at Fenway Park.

The game was close throughout tied at one until mid-season acquisition Andrew Cashner gave up an RBI single to Twins pinch-hitter Willins Austidillo in the 7th inning.

The Sox tried to mount a comeback in the 9th inning against Twins closer Taylor Rogers, but Rafael Devers was thrown out at the plate to end the game. The Boston third baseman tried tying the game up on a J.D. Martinez double, but Minnesota’s Eddie Rosario gunned him down.

Tonight, the Sox take on the division leading New York Yankees at Fenway Park. The Yanks will be sending out right-hander Domingo German while starter Jhoulys Chacin makes his Red Sox debut. Chacin was acquired by Boston last weekend after being waived by the Milwaukee Brewers. The 11-year-veteran has a career 4.00 ERA and will try and help Boston with their playoff push starting tonight. You can catch the game tonight at 7:10 by watching on NESN or listening to it on 93.7 WEEI FM.
