Red Sox Prepare for Start of London Series with Yankees

Tonight, the Red Sox have an off-day as they head their way to London, England to battle against the division rival New York Yankees

Boston and New York will be playing at London Stadium in London, England as the MLB tries to improve the global popularity of the league. Sending two of the world’s most notable franchises to play each other in Europe is a good place to start.

Even though the overall goal of the trip is to market major league baseball, these are still important games.  The third place Red Sox are still trying to catch up to the division leading Yankees. The 44-38 Sox sit 9 games back of the 52-28 Yankees, and as we get closer to the All-Star game, these games become even more important.

The London series starts tomorrow as Boston’s Rick Porcello matches up with the Yanks Masahiro Tanaka. You can catch the game tomorrow at 1:10 by watching on FOX, or listening to it on 93.7 WEEI FM.
