Last night the Red Sox pummeled the New York Yankees by a final score of 19-3. Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka was charged with 12 earned runs while failing to get out of the fourth inning. On the other side, Red Sox starter Rick Porcello put up a quality start going six allowing only three runs. The Sox were in control of this one from the start. They came out firing scoring seven in the bottom half off the first. It was easy to see the Sox were playing at an extra gear, and with three more games against the Yankees coming up, it is hard to envision them letting their foot off the gas as they sit 10 games back of New York.

Some offensive standouts from the game include Boston’s Xander Bogaerts and Rafael Devers. The two young studs combined to go 6 for 11 with three home runs which helped pace the Sox 19 run attack.

Tonight, the Sox and Yanks battle once again. New York will send lefty James Paxton to the mound while Boston starter Andrew Cashner looks to nab his first win since becoming a member of the Sox two weeks ago. You can catch the game tonight at 7:10 by watching on NESN or listening to it on 93.7 WEEI FM.
