A Kyrie Irving miss down one gave the Miami Heat a 90-89 upset victory over the Boston Celtics. Missing key players like Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside, the Heat were instead led by a familiar foe — former Celtic Kelly Olynyk, who posted a career-high 32 points in the Miami win.
Similar to Irving’s off-balanced final attempt, the Celtics were flustered in this one, shooting just 38% from the field. That was in large part to a zone defense that Heat coach Erik Spoelstra threw out to confuse the Celtics.
Boston gets little time to dwell on this loss, as they head to New York for a Thursday night showdown at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks.
