Sale Dominant as Red Sox Cruise Past Angels

The Boston Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Angels last night on the back of Chris Sale's 8-inning 13 strikeout performance.

Last night Chris Sale and the Red Sox cruised past Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels by a final score of 3-0.

Boston really had this game won before it even started. The aforementioned Sale came out firing on all cylinders after being shellacked by the New York Yankees in his last outing. Sale ended up going 8 very strong innings, striking out 13, and only allowing two hits. That is the Chris Sale Boston needs if they are going to make a push for the postseason.

There was not much offense in the game, but the Sox three runs all came courtesy of the long ball. Sox first baseman Sam Travis hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the second, and catcher Sandy Leon hit a solo bomb in the bottom of the fifth. Not the guys you would expect to hit homers, but their shots were all Boston needed with Sale throwing how he did.

Tonight, the Sox and Angels face off yet again. Brian Johnson grabs the ball for Boston as he gets ready to match up with Los Angeles starter Jaime Barria. You can catch the game tonight at 7:10 by watching on NESN or listening to it on 93.7 WEEI FM.
