San Francisco Giants play-by-play announcer Dave Fleming joins Tim Kawakami to discuss the Giants, Jim Harbaugh, and other topics.

San Francisco Giants play-by-play announcer Dave Fleming joins Tim Kawakami on this edition of the TK Show.

There was a ton of buzz this offseason surrounding the Giants, including the possibility of Giancarlo Stanton coming to the Bay Area. Even though that did not come to fruition, the Giants still made solid moves acquiring Evan Longoria and Andrew McCutchen.  The problem with the Giants is that they are locked in to several long term deals, so it would be extremely difficult to hit the reset button. The Giants are a loyal franchise, sometimes to a fault. It is also highly unlikely that manager Bruce Bochy would want to stay for a complete rebuild. They also brought up the Giants draft strategy.

Moving forward, TK and Dave discuss Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh coaching situation. The expectations were sky high when he took the Michigan job but they have underperformed in the big games. Would that be enough to bring him back to the NFL? It seems unlikely as there were no rumors this offseason with a bevy of openings. Harbaugh does a terrific job of choosing and developing a staff to succeed. It looks like Harbaugh is staying put for now.

Later on, TK brings up Dave’s potential new gig with the Sunday Night Baseball crew. In fact, he loves connecting with teams around the league and does a fantastic job in San Francisco.

In addition, TK and Dave joke about their golf games and putting woes.  Plus, Dave gives some insight on his favorite course.
