Boston scored 16 second-quarter points and got down by 21 before waking up and trying to come back in Portland. Instead, the Trail Blazers held on and sent the Celtics back east with a loss and a 1-4 road trip.

Damian Lilliard and Jusuf Nurkic had double-doubles, while the Celtics shot under 40 percent, despite 27 points from Jayson Tatum. Two 10-0 runs in the second half tied the game at 86, but 10-3 Portland put 7-6 Boston away late.
