Mitch Moreland and Christian Vazquez powered the Red Sox to a series sweep over the Athletics in a 7-3 victory Wednesday night.

Ramon Laureano who was a thorn in the Red Sox side for the series earlier in the season in Oakland got the Athletics on the board first with an RBI single in the 2nd inning.

The Red Sox answered right back in the bottom half of the second as Moreland hit a sac-fly tying up the ball game. The Red Sox had a chance to take the lead in the 2nd but the red hot rookie Chavis was thrown out at home after a crazy bounce off the backstop right to the catcher.

Luckily in the 4th inning Mitch Moreland hit a solo shot giving the Red Sox the 2-1 lead they should have had in the 2nd. From there as per the trend in the series the Red Sox offense came alive.

Mookie Betts made it 3-1 in the 5th with a sac fly, Lin made it 4-1 with an RBI single in the 6th and Benintendi made it 5-1 with an RBI single in the same inning.

The icing on the cake was applied in the 8th inning as Christian Vazquez continued his hot start to the season with a solo home run.
