On this episode of Patriots Daily CLNS Media’s Taylor Kyles and SI’s Mike Kadlick react to the latest development in the Christian Gonzalez-New England Patriots contract extension drama.
The newest report coming out today from Jeremy Fowler that the two are “Not close” on several aspects of a new contract. Fowler also reported that Gonzalez will not negotiate during the season.
Taylor believes with this latest report that he thinks Christian Gonzalez will play this season and will not sit out until he gets a new contract, but does suggest could be some long term impact if a deal does not get done before the season.
The guys react to this latest report and also take a look down memory lane at a trade that happened last year between the Colts and Jets that also involved a big name cornerback with the Colts trading for Sauce Gardner. The guys look at the return that the Jets got back from that deal and believe Gonzalez would go for way more but hope it doesn’t come to that.
