Did Rob Gronkoski Tell Drew Brees “he’s coming back”?

On the ESPY's red carpet Rob Gronkowski and Drew Brees were caught smiling, laughing and chatting about Gronk coming back to the NFL.

Here we go again with the Rob Gronkowski comeback rumors.

Last night on the Red Carpet of the Espy’s Gronk was caught on camera chatting it up with Saints quarterback Drew Brees. During the conversation Gronk says – without context – “Yeah, I’m coming back.”

He then giggles in his very Gronk way.

Let’s be real here. This is said without any context whatsoever. It’s also possible he’s saying “they’re coming back.” Also if he did say “I’m coming back.” there is no way to know what he is referring to or if he’s just messing around.

But damn, it’s going to add even more fuel to the come back fire.

If it was an isolated thing then maybe you could brush it off. But there’s a lot that’s happened recently to give people a reason to believe Gronk – who retired back in March – isn’t all the way gone.

Earlier this week the tight end reportedly caught passes from Tom Brady in a private workout on the UCLA campus.

Last week on the Rich Eisen show Gronkowski said that he was happy with his decision to retire but said he wasn’t sure how he would feel when August and training camp rolls around.

“There’s definitely going to be times when you miss it and everything. . . . I mean I can’t really say how I’m going to feel about it when the games start rolling around and everything.”

The 5 time pro-bowler and 3 time Super Bowl champ caught 522 passes for 7,861 receiving yards and 79 touchdowns over 115 regular-season games in New England.

Many people have speculated that Gronk might get the itch and try to return to playing sometime after training camp or perhaps after the season gets underway.

With or without Gronk the Patriots are already very thin at the tight end position with one possible replacement – Benjamin Watson – out of action the first four weeks of the season because a pending PED suspension.
