Celtics Are Missing a Vocal Leader

Bob Ryan and Jeff Goodman address Brad Stevens' role in the Celtics' recent struggles.

Kemba Walker is an all around great player but he is not a vocal leader, Jayson Tatum is not ready to be a leader yet, and neither is Jalen Brown even though he thinks that he is, according to Jeff Goodman. Bob Ryan, Jay King and he discussed the leadership situation on the Celtics amid inconsistency and lack of effort, especially with the report by Gary Washburn that Boston appears to be tuning out Brad Stevens. Goodman advocated for hiring Kevin Garnett as an assistant coach, or looking for a rotation guy who brings leadership attributes and is able to play more than Tristan Thompson. King still sees the Celtics echoing Stevens’ message, and the playing issues a problem of personnel.
