TD Garden, Boston, Mass. — Jayson Tatum was interviewed postgame after the Celtics’ 119-114 win vs the Golden State Warriors. He began his interview by facetiming former Celtic Javonte Green who said hello to all the media members.
He was asked about his conversations with Stephen Curry after the game. “Just mutual respect,” said Tatum. “Obviously two big performances… obviously he’s one of the all-time greats.”
Tatum also commented on what it was like to have his son Deuce in the building. “I mean I always love when he’s at the game,” Tatum said. “Just kind of a visual representation of what I do it for… that’s all the motivation in the world right there.”
Marcus Smart made a big-time play down the stretch, snagging an offensive rebound and hitting a clutch three. Tatum was asked whether or not he’s surprised by these types of plays from Smart anymore. “Nah,” he responded. “But at the same time you still have to acknowledge it… not surprised but you should never take that for granted.”
