Philadelphia 76ers center and MVP hopeful Joel Embiid spoke with the media following the 76ers 106-96 win at TD Garden against the Boston Celtics. Joel Embiid talked about his recent return from injury, saying “tonight was a big step” in getting closer to where he was before the knee injury. Embiid suffered the injury back on March 12th against the Washington Wizards, and only just recently returned to play against the Minnesota Timberwolves on April 3rd. When asked about the pick-and-roll between him and teammate Ben Simmons, Embiid said that it created mismatches by switching guards onto him, and made it “easier for me to score” as he drew foul after foul with ease inside. On going into Boston and coming out with a win to sweep the season series, Embiid said “you wanna play well against them and you wanna win all these games…that’s our rival, they have a great team”.
