LeBron James was interviewed before the 2021 NBA All-Star Game and spoke about the importance of supporting HBCUs. This year’s All-Star Game is dedicated to supporting HBCUs, including a themed court and co-branded merchandise. All proceeds from these hoodies and t-shirts will do directly to supporting the HBCUs involved. The NBA also has selected an officiating crew for the game made up of three HBCU alumni. James talked about why it has always been important to him to support these universities. He also recently struck a deal with Florida A&M, one of the nation’s top HBCUs, to have them wear his logo and Nike apparel. The All-Star Game tips off tonight at 8:00 PM EST.
