FOXBORO- There is always an opportunity to prove yourself during training camp. Whether you are a rookie or a returner the pre-season is your first opportunity to show whether your play has improved or declined.
“You just could not complete a pass on him.” Lazar said of cornerback Jonathan Jones. “This guy can really, really play. He’s a top 3 corner on this team, without a doubt.”
This is good news for a patriots secondary that has several question marks outside of all-pro Stephon Gilmore. However, Lazar was less impressed by first year tackle Dan Skipper stating: “A scout team player long armed him and knocked him on his butt in one on ones. That is not what you want to look for in your starting left tackle.”
That being said, there were some positives on the patriots offense in second year running back Sony Michel. Michel looked, “Spry, a little bit quicker than he did at points last year.”
