Tristan Thompson spoke in his postgame interview after a tough loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. “This season has been, like Coach Stevens has said, it’s a bunch of curveballs… when I made that quote [about regular season games] I was referring to a fully healthy team… it’s got to be a next man up mentality.”

Thompson came into the locker room desiring to set the tone defensively, and with the team struggling on that side of the ball, they’re trying to find answers. “We kind of just, we try to lead by example by playing physical… in this league you gotta play with a sense of urgency… talent and offensive capability is not our issue…it’s gotta start from jump ball.”

On former teammate Kevin Love lighting the Celtics up tonight, Thompson said “Definitely frustrating… guys gotta have their antennas up… he’s [Love] catching up top… communication cleans up a lot of holes in your defense…he’s a Hall of Fame player.”

On how the team can try to fix their chemistry and communication issues, Tristan said “I think the great thing is that this team has a bunch of great human beings… we all are very close together off the court, on the court now we just gotta turn it up a notch… we gotta push some buttons and it’s gonna come from within with our team… this is the playoffs, this is for all the marbles, there’s no redos… you gotta have that win or go home mentality.”
