The Celtics second unit went down by 20 points midway through a game that had far more consequences for the Knicks, who sealed the 4 seed in the east with a 96-92 win. Tremont Waters, Carsen Edwards and Romeo Langford led a rally to tie the game late, before Julius Randle and Reggie Bullock hit key shots late and Langford committed a costly foul down by three to give New York possession and the clock to finish the win. Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, Evan Fournier, Tristan Thompson and Robert Williams sat since Boston already clinched the seven seed, and a Wizards comeback win vs the Hornets set up a Tuesday meeting at 9 p.m. in Boston for a trip to the playoffs against the 2-seed, which will likely be the Nets. Charlotte heads to Indiana for the 9-10 play in.
