Brad Stevens Postgame Interview | Celtics vs Heat

TD Garden, Boston, Mass. — Brad Stevens was interviewed postgame after the Celtics’ 130-124 loss vs the Miami Heat. He talked about the team’s poor first-half effort, his decision to play Carsen Edwards, and gave an injury update on Robert Williams.

The Heat killed Boston in the first half, and Stevens was asked about this issue postgame. “They outplayed us obviously in the first half, there’s no excuse for that,” he stated. “We have to do a better job, we have not been good on several occasions this year starting games… this game forced us to try some things we haven’t done as much… we’re small and so we have to fight.”

Stevens chose to play Edwards for extended minutes in this game. When asked about that decision, this is what he had to say. “We were trying to play faster, more skilled… I almost threw Tremont in there just to be as small and fast as possible in this league… Carsen has great skill… I thought he did a good job when he was in.”

Lastly, Williams went out at halftime and did not return. Stevens gave this update on his health in his postgame press conference. “Yeah, too uncomfortable to keep going… it could be game-time decisions every day… I don’t know what the deal is right now… I think I played Tristan 15 straight minutes there.”
