Brad Stevens was interviewed before the regular season finale against the New York Knicks. Boston’s injury report was lengthy, and their top seven players were all ruled out as they needed rest and recovery before the play-in tournament.
“Jayson and Evan are out.” Stevens said plainly, and it’s not surprising based on the team’s seeding; Kemba Walker, Robert Williams, Marcus, and Tristan Thompson were all ruled out for last game.
“It’s been a challenging year” said Coach Stevens, “a lot of guys will be available and will be playing… the play-in games are going to be exciting for fans… once you get into the playoffs and teams dial into the playoffs and prepare for each other, you see everybody’s levels rise… I anticipate the playoffs will be great.”
With players trying to get healthy, Stevens said “We’ll find out more when we hit the practice court tomorrow with those guys and go from there.”
