With less than a week to go before the arrival of the 2023 NBA trade deadline, the first cracks in the current order of the league are beginning to show, erupting into prominence with yet another trade request from the roster of the Brooklyn Nets, though this time with former Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.
And while it may be fun to relish the schadenfreude in Brooklyn after what the Nets front office put Boston fans through over the summer with the Kevin Durant trade request, the more important issue embedded in this drama is how the 2023 deadline will shape the face of the league.
With a general consensus that no major moves are incoming for the Celtics in the Boston media, the bigger question seems to be how the league will change around the team more than how the team itself may change via trades. To that end, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast teamed up with Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale to try and get a bead on what the NBA might look like come Feb. 10.
We of course do our due diligence regarding what we’re hearing about Boston’s hopes at the deadline, but we do our best to divine what major moves might be coming down the pike at the end of one of the craziest weeks in the NBA calendar year.
