CBD Oil For Pets — Tips To Help You Get The Best Online

So you’ve made up your mind that CBD oil is good for your beloved pet. Now you want to go shopping for it online. How do you get the best? How do you ensure that you don’t end up with a product that will endanger your beloved pet? Let’s share some tips that will help you…

1. Ensure the Product Actually Contains CBD Oil

Believe it or NOT, there are unscrupulous brands out there. They will join the bandwagon of any great product but then end up serving unsuspecting members of the public anything but what they advertise.

Some products might be advertised as hemp-based or infused with hemp and such terms. But if it doesn’t tell you expressly what percentage of CBD is contained in it, you have to be wary of it.

While some products actually contain CBD, it’s important to note that they may NOT contain them in the advertised quantity. So do your due diligence to ensure that you are actually getting what you bargained for.

To help save you the hassles, visit a store online that is committed to providing the best for pets.

2. Ensure It’s The Type You Really Want

CBD oils come in two major forms: The full spectrum or the isolate. In order NOT to bore you with technicalities, just note that the full spectrum type has other valuable additions. These valuable additions are active compounds that make up the product you are buying.

On the other hand, the isolate is just that: The oil in its pure unadulterated form.

There are advantages with either option but we are NOT going into those in this article. The main point here is that you should know which works best for you and then ensure that the products you are shortlisting are that type.

3. Is The Dosage Clear Enough?

Yes, you might have read somewhere that for every ten pounds of weight, the right dosage for a dog or similar pet is a milligram. Well, that’s just a general rule.

You need to understand that the specifics of the particular CBD oil you’re settling for has a huge impact on the dosage that will do your pet good.

The level of potency, the brand and the particular type of oil play a big part in determining the right dosage. So don’t be left guessing. Ensure that the manufacturer has clear dosages for different pet needs.

4. Are There Artificial Ingredients In It?

We mentioned earlier that the full spectrum version of CBD oils usually comes with other active ingredients. However, you shouldn’t stop just at those active ingredients. You need to look at the full list of ingredients.

This is because those “trace” ingredients might trigger an allergic reaction in your pet or worsen certain conditions. So it’s important that you ensure that all additional ingredients are such that are good for your pet.

5. Make Sure It’s Been Tested

Every product peddler will tell you how wonderful their product is. That’s a fact. However, it’s up to us to ensure that we have a sure way of verifying those claims.

A great way available is third party testing. Click here to read more on it.

If a company cannot show proof that certain recognized bodies have tested their product to ensure compliance and claims, that’s a bad sign.

You don’t want to give your pet a product that has been exposed to molds, was prepared in unhygienic environments or has been exposed to dangerous compounds albeit in trace amounts.

6. Ensure you’re Getting an Organic Product

Hemp, by its very nature, will pull contaminants in the soil into the leaves. If the land on which it is grown has been contaminated with various chemicals, they’ll somehow end up in the leaves. By consequence, any CBD oil derived from such plants will have such contaminations too.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the extraction process means that the concentration of whatever contaminants are found in the plant will only increase. This puts your beloved pet in grave danger.

To ensure that you avoid such danger, it’s important that you have clarity on the source of your oil. Make sure it’s NOT from any of those industrial hemp sources.

The temptation for many manufacturers to use those sources is quite high as they are usually priced low. So do your due diligence and ensure that you know where they are sourcing their products.

Closely related to where they are sourcing their products is also how they go about their whole sourcing. Make sure that at no point in the chain is the product exposed to contaminants. Read more about contamination of CBD oil at the following url: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fphar.2020.571832/full

7. Don’t Be Deceived By Low Price

Yes, we all love a great bargain and that’s a good thing if you are getting top quality. But if it would mean compromising the health of a member of your family, then it becomes unwise.

It’s important that you ask yourself if the price point offered makes sense for a high quality product of the sort you are looking for. Every manufacturer is in it to turn a profit so if you see a dirt cheap price, it’s time to ask questions about what might have been compromised.

8. Check What Existing Users Have To Say

There’s no point making your pet the guinea pig for a product. If a particular brand has a great product that many can vouch for, you can start from such brands and then pick your preference from that trusted bunch.

If there are too many complaints, you may want to take a step back. Yes, every great brand will attract a few complaints now and again. That’s not what we are talking about here. We are talking about a high percentage.

Conclusion

If you implement the tips we’ve shared in this article, you’ll set yourself on the path to getting the best CBD oil for your beloved pet.
