Tatum Drops 44, Celtics Pull Away from Hornets 115-101

The Celtics look to stretch their win streak to four games as they travel to Charlotte to take on the Hornets. Boston fans also had a reunion with Isaiah Thomas, who recently signed a 10-day contract with Charlotte. In what was a tight game most of the way, the Celtics pulled away from the Hornets as Jayson Tatum had another monster performance with 44 PTS as Boston bounced Charlotte 115-101 for their fourth straight win. Tatum became the first player in franchise history to score 44 or more PTS in back-to-back games; he also broke his previous franchise record of most points in a three-game span with 135 PTS over his last three matchups.

“He’s getting the matchups he wants,” said Head Coach Ime Udoka, “getting to the spots he wants, and getting the shots he wants…and everyone else is feeding off it as well.”

On Jayson Tatum’s recent hot streak of play, Derrick White said “It’s been fun to watch. Personally, on this side, I enjoy it…he’s doing it within the offense…he’s doing a good job of finding guys when they double him.”

“I like where we at the last 15 games or so,” said Jayson Tatum, “We’re gonna keep playing the right way. Keep doing what we’re trying to do.”
