The Celtics continued their road trip and took on the Orlando Magic on Saturday night. Without the presence of Al Horford, Joe Mazzulla turned to Noah Vonleh in Boston’s starting lineup against Orlando. The two teams went back and forth the entire night, as the game gradually turned into a shootout with sub-par defense on both sides of the ball. Boston ended up being outrebounded 48 to 37, and allowed Orlando to score 22 points off second chances.
However, after some late game heroics from Derrick White during a career performance and Jayson Tatum making Celtics history, the Celtics pulled off the 126-120 win to kick off the season with three straight wins. The team will now travel to Chicago, where they will play the Bulls on Monday night.
