The Celtics and Nets will square off tonight at the Barclays Center as they kick off Game 2 of their best-of-seven series. Outside of the expected absence of Jaylen Brown, Boston has a clean injury report. Robert Williams is expected to be all systems go for this evening’s matchup.
Brad Stevens spoke in his pregame press conference about the adjustments needed by Boston going into tonight’s matchup:
“Well there’s two teams out there obviously they’re doing a good job… executed the switches with physicality… it all looks good in theory… you have to cut before the contact, you have to keep the ball moving side to side… it’s more about movement, both body movement and ball movement… you have to cut before they can contact switch.”
Boston’s defense on Brooklyn was impressive in Game 1, as they held the Nets to only 104 points. It marked only the eighth time Brooklyn scored less than 105 all season. Boston’s offense ultimately cost them the game, as key scorers Walker, Tatum and Fournier struggled from the field, shooting a combined 14/46 from the field.
Boston’s lead players will look to bounce back and even the score. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM with coverage provided on TNT. Be sure to join The Garden Report for our Live Post Game show following the game tonight.
