The Celtics played their first playoff game at TD Garden since 2019 last night and everything fell into place. Boston got their first win vs the Nets in the series, taking home the 125-119 victory.
Jayson Tatum led the way with yet another 50-point performance, dominating the offensive side of the floor. Marcus Smart added 23 points, while Tristan Thompson put up a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Tatum was dialed in at TD Garden last night. He spoke about what playing in Boston means to him and gave a little glimpse into how he’s feeling for Game 4, where there will be close to a full house at TD Garden.
“I can’t wait. It’s been a while since playing in front of a packed house, especially in the playoffs, in the garden. I’m excited, I’m excited for the new guys, the young guys who haven’t experienced there yet. It’s going to be fun.”
Brooklyn’s big three combined for 96 of the Nets’ 119 points, but Kyrie Irving struggled. He scored 16 points on 6-17 shooting and was met with loud “boos” every time he touched the ball.
As mentioned, TD Garden will be at near full capacity on Sunday for Game 4. That one is set to tip-off at 7:00 PM on TNT.
