Former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder is signing a one year contract with the Boston Celtics that will be for the $5.9 million taxpayer midlevel exception. Last season he average 15.4 points and 5.8 assists over 61 games.
Before this signing, the Celtics weren’t really active in NBA free agency, but now the team just signed a guy who turned down a $84 million extension that the Lakers offered him in March.
On Instagram, the eight-year veteran posted: “I’m proud to announce that for the 2021-22 season, I’ll be playing with the Boston Celtics! This is one of the best franchises in NBA history and it will be a honor to put on the green and white and do I what I love! I’m going out there every night and leaving it all on the floor for the city!!! Who’s ready?!”
What can Schroder bring to the Celtics this season? How does Schroder impact the Celtics roster as a whole? How good is this deal really? The Garden Report addresses it all!
