Jayson Tatum Game 5 Postgame Interview | Celtics vs Nets

Jayson Tatum was interviewed after the Celtics were eliminated by the Brooklyn Nets, 123-109. Tatum was asked if he planned to practice with the US Olympic team this summer, but said he needed to give it some time. “I’ve been playing a lot the last couple of years, but that’s an incredible opportunity. It’s something I have to think about.”
When asked about what changes needed to be made, Tatum simply said “That’s not in my job description. My job is to show up to work, to do what I can and to go from there.”
This season marked the first time Jayson Tatum was eliminated in the first round, as the Celtics have made the 2nd round every other time since he’s been drafted. “Yeah, I’m mad. I’m disappointed. I feel like we learned a lot. I know I did.”

On whether or not he feels he can make suggestions to the front office, Tatum said “That’s tough. I mean, yeah, I can make suggestions. I feel like we all have our jobs. It’s not my job to make trade suggestions and all that.”
Tatum also said his health is in a much better place since recovering from COVID. On what steps and layers he can add to his game, Tatum said “I have a lot I can improve on. I’m only 23. I have a long way to go. I feel like I can get a lot better. That’s what’s fun. I have lot to improve on in all areas, and that’s what I’m gonna do.”
