Jayson Tatum was interviewed after the Celtics fell to the Trail Blazers on Sunday night. Tatum finished the night with 33 PTS on 11-19 shooting (4-5 from three) to go with 2 REB, 5 AST, and 1 BLK.
On his late game collision with Jaylen Brown, Tatum said “I mean yeah, we just collided. I guess he stepped on my foot and he fell on my leg. But should be alright, see hwo I feel tomorrow. But I should be ok…I was able to walk off the court by myself, so that’s a good sign…I hope he’s alright.”
On late game execution against Portland, Tatum said “today, I think we had some costly turnovers, missed opportunities, and late possessions of the game we wish we could have back.” On Fournier’s return from COVID, Tatum stated “You know, we’ve had plenty of talks about it…just some things to look out for. Obviously we lost, but it was good just see him get into a groove, and see him feeling good about seeing shots go in.”
On the officials making lots of calls and reviews to slow the game down late, Tatum seemed frustrated, saying “I hate it. I think it throws the rhythm of the game off…I’m not necessarily a fan of the reviews and challenging plays. But I guess it’s just a part of the game now.”
