The Celtics made a miraculous 32-point comeback vs the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, winning 143-140. Jayson Tatum led the way with a career-high 60 points. This effort was also good enough to tie Larry Bird’s franchise record for most points scored in a single game.
The Garden Report reacts to this historical performance, as well as the team’s comeback. Tatum is one of only three players in NBA history to score 60 points with no turnovers. The crew breakdown how important this comeback was for the team’s season, and just how impressed they are with Tatum.
Tatum was the only Celtic who could get things going early on, scoring 14 of the team’s 16 first-quarter points. He also added eight rebounds and five assists to go along with his point total. He shot 20-37 from the field and 5-7 from three. Tatum also managed to shot 15-17 from the free throw line.
