Kemba Walker Postgame Interview | Celtics vs Heat

Following a frustrating defeat against Miami, Kemba Walker was interviewed and asked about the standings and Boston virtually locked into the play-in tournament. “Man, I guess it doesn’t really matter at this point… we wouldn’t like to be here obviously, but whenever you have opportunities to still make the postseason, you can’t complain about that… you got to find a way to be better together and find a way to win… at this point you just have to take it for what it is.”

With the difficulties of this season and the hardships the Celtics of late, Kemba Walker put it into perspective. “It’s been a tough year for everybody, not just us… it’s been a tough year for basketball in general, for people who don’t play basketball, for the whole world… we just want to finish as strong as we can… can’t sit back and complain.”

Walker also didn’t hesitate to call out the Celtics slacking on defense, saying “It’s a pride thing… individually we just all have to look in the mirror… we have to ask ourselves ‘are we giving it everything on that end of the floor’ and to be honest, we’re not… that’s what we got to do.”

Walker has been on a tear lately, and with teammate Jaylen Brown sidelined for the rest of the season, Boston will need Kemba;s scoring and leadership. “I’m just being myself… I just love to play basketball, that’s all.”

On his recent hot shooting stretch, Kemba said that “Every game is going to be different… obviously we don’t have Jaylen… just what I got to do at this point… I just want to continue to do what I can… I just want to win, that’s all I want to do is win and find a way to win and help my team win.”
