The Celtics returned home to TD Garden to host the Hawks on Tuesday night, as the Eastern Conference standings are neck-and-neck. After losing Jaylen Brown to injury in the 1st quarter, Boston was struggling to defend Atlanta as the Hawks scored 61 PTS in the 1st half. However, the Celtics came into the 2nd half determined, overcoming a game-high 17 PT deficit in a 107-98 comeback win over the Hawks on Tuesday night. Atlanta only managed to score 33 PTS in the 2nd half.

After the game, Head Coach Ime Udoka offered an update on Jaylen Brown’s ankle injury. Brown had “Rolled it, had some swelling and soreness,” said Udoka, “He tried to give it a go in the back and wanted to come back out and play. But we felt big picture, where we are in the season, just be smart.”

Teammate Grant Williams said it was “a scary moment” when they initially saw Brown’s injury, but he added that “Luckily, he’s ok and he’s better than we (pictured).”

On the team picking the defense up in the 2nd half to smother Atlanta, Marcus Smart said “It takes all five of us. When we’re clicking on all cylinders, it’s tough to score against us.” Smart himself made some late game-saving plays, including a chase-down block that led to a Grant Williams three on the other end.
