Marcus Smart Game 1 Practice Interview | Celtics vs Nets

Marcus Smart gave an update on his injury, saying he is feeling great health-wise, after limping off the court vs. Washington. Smart also said: “We know the odds are against us. But we have nothing to lose. They have a ton of talent, but talent doesn’t always win.”

Smart, known for his All NBA defense, shares how it will be a key factor in facing the Nets in this NBA playoff series, starting tomorrow. Also, Smart gives insight on what it is like to defend James Harden, who he has got the best of at times in previous matchups. Then he goes further on his role on the team and how to make sure not all the pressure falls on Jayson Tatum. Lastly, as the “heart and soul” of the team, Smart shares the team mindset heading into this matchup.

During the regular season, Smart averaged over 13 PTS, 5 ASTS, and 3 REBS. In the three games vs. the Nets, he averaged over 17 PTS on about 43 FG%, 36 3FG%, plus 3 ASTS.
