Nic Claxton was interviewed after the Nets’ practice ahead of Game 2 vs the Boston Celtics. Claxton spoke about Celtics center Robert Williams, what Coach Steve Nash wants to see from him, and what emotions he was feeling in Game 1, his first playoff game.
Claxton was asked about how the team plans to change their style of play to account for Williams. He responded with this answer: “He had a helluva game… we just need to utilize pump fakes more… he’s jumping at pretty much everything… just have to adjust a little bit and know where he is at all times.”
He was also asked about what Coach Nash wants to see from him in the playoffs. This was his response: “Obviously this is pretty much a whole new season… just me building off of what I did in the regular season… being able to guard one through five… being all the way engaged… piggybacking off of what I was able to do in the regular season.”
Lastly, Claxton commented on what he was feeling during his first ever playoff game in Game 1: “I was ready… I think we had like 13,000 fans, we definitely felt that energy… I was excited, every hooper loves to play in that type of atmosphere… as far as advice, the intensity level was definitely picked up… I think it’s cool, you can’t be out there complaining for fouls, you just got to play basketball.”
